MRV
A Unidade de Monitoria, Relatório e Verificação (MRV) faz do Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento Sustentável, e foi criada para os seguintes objectivos:
- Apoiar tecnicamente e financeiramente na realização do Inventário Florestal Nacional;
- Produzir dados de actividade utilizados para a estimativa da área de mudança de cobertura florestal;
- Produzir e reportar os níveis de referência de emissões resultantes do desmatamento e degradação florestal;
- Monitorar, reportar e verificar a dinâmica do desmatamento e de degradação florestal;
- Apoiar tecnicamente no desenvolvimento de metodologias para a estimativa do carbono;
- Disponibilizar dados e relatórios sobre as actividades relacionadas com a componente do MRV para REDD+.
Missão:
- Criar sistemas de colecta, processamento, análise e reporte de informação geospacial para apoiar a monitoria de emissões, remoções de gases de efeito estufa e informação das actividades dos programas e projectos do FNDS;
- Produzir dados nacionais de emissões e remoções de gases de efeito estufa do sector de florestas e prestar apoio técnico às outras unidades com interesses similares.
Metas:
- Gerar estimativas anuais de desmatamento e degradação florestal;
- Gerar estimativas anuais de remoções resultantes das actividades de plantações florestais, sistemas agro-florestais e outras práticas;
- Estabelecer a Rede Nacional de Parcelas de Amostragem Permanentes (RNPAP);
- Produzir metodologias para apoiar projectos de REDD+;
- Registrar os programas e projectos REDD+;
- Estabelecer Sistemas de monitoria participativa nas comunidades e
- Desenvolver o Sistema de monitoria de Agricultura.
Esta unidade é composta por uma equipe jovem de doze (13) técnicos nacionais com formação a nível de licenciatura e mestrado na área florestal, gestão de recursos naturais e GIS/Sensoriamento remoto, Estatística e um (1) Coordenador de MRV, Engenheiro florestal e Especialista em Gestão de Engenharias.
